4M have had another busy week this week and it has been lovely to speak with parents and carers at our Parents Evening this week and share the fantastic progress that Year 4 have been making.
This week, 4M class have been celebrating Black History Month with some exciting and meaningful learning activities! It has been a brilliant opportunity to explore influential leaders, discuss key historical moments, and reflect on why this month matters so much.
We have watched a video about Martin Luther King and about his powerful vision for equality, peaceful activism and how his famous “I Have a Dream” speech continues to inspire people around the world today. We have also had lots of lovely discussions around the achievements, culture and central role of Black individuals throughout history.
To deepen our understanding, we completed a reading comprehension activity all around Black History Month and its importance. This gave us a chance to practice our reading skills while discovering more about key historical events and inspiring stories of key individuals like Marcus Rashford, Walter Tull, Nathan Bryon and Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
It has been a week filled with great discussions, thoughtful questions, and valuable lessons. We’re looking forward to carrying these important conversations forward throughout the rest of the month and beyond!
Have a lovely weekend everybody!
